Daniel Abdie earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. A lifelong athlete himself, Daniel is passionate about helping athletes of all levels return to sport with confidence, resilience, and tools to thrive. He specializes in sports rehabilitation and performance and has extensive experience guiding competitive athletes through the return-to-play process using evidence-based treatment.

A native of Portland, Oregon, Daniel attended Westview High School where he competed in football, basketball, and track & field earning All-Metro League honors in football and track & field. He then attended Willamette University in Salem, OR where he played wide receiver on the football team while earning a degree in Exercise Science.

Daniel has completed advanced manual therapy coursework through NAIOMT and holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training, trigger point dry needling, and the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM). His treatment philosophy centers on forming meaningful relationships through individualized, high-level care that empowers athletes both physically and mentally.

Before joining the HQPT team, Daniel founded and operated his own physical therapy practice, where he built strong partnerships with local athletic communities. He continues to work closely with ATHENA and AJAX volleyball clubs, providing specialized care and performance services for youth volleyball athletes.

Outside the clinic, Daniel enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife, Hannah, and their labradoodle, Millie. Whether it’s golfing, hiking, camping, or skiing, he’s always up for an adventure. He’s also an avid sports fan—especially when it comes to football, basketball, and golf.

Marielle Mitchell is from Atlanta, Georgia where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University in 2024, followed by a 15-month orthopedic residency with Providence Health and Services. She received advanced training in movement science, injury rehabilitation, and performance optimization. She is in the process of gaining her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification.

Before becoming a clinician, Marielle was a gymnast for 17 years where she competed at the elite and collegiate levels. During her career she was a 3-time National TOPS qualifier, competed internationally, represented Sweden for the Swedish National Gymnastics Team, and won Comeback Player of the Year Award at BYU. After undergoing 11 surgeries throughout her career, she developed a deep understanding of the rehabilitation process from both sides of the treatment table. This experience fuels her commitment to helping athletes and active individuals return to the activities they love with confidence and resilience knowing what it takes both mentally and physically to come back from injury.

Marielle specializes in working with young athletes, performing artists, active adults, and individuals navigating persistent or chronic pain. Her approach provides evidence-based, individualized care that considers the whole person—their goals, lifestyle, and the physical and psychosocial factors that shape their movement and recovery.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find Marielle hiking, skiing, traveling, practicing yoga, or cooking and eating around Portland. She is also a certified yoga teacher and incorporates mindful movement when appropriate to support long-term strength, mobility, and wellness.
